Welcome. Thank you for your interest in the Ascension Christian Schools. Our hope is that you will find the information here helpful in knowing who we are, our culture, and the unique Christian educational environment we provide.

The Mission Statement of the Ascension Christian Schools is:

“We strive to train students to pursue their God-given purpose in a Christ-centered environment of educational excellence.”

The History of the Ascension Christian Schools:

Our schools are operate as a ministry with the Household of Faith Church in Gonzales, Louisiana. The history of the Household of Faith spans over 40 years of Christian influence in the local community, Ascension Parish, the state, and many foreign countries.

The vision of our non-denominational church is inspired by Psalms 68:6, “God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy.” It incorporates a mission to reach families for Christ through various ministries including education. The schools’ desire in its ministry is to provide opportunities for people to connect and build relationships with each other that will encourage a relationship with Jesus Christ who will guide them to fulfilling their life’s purpose.

In the late 70s, the educational ministry began with the opening of Faith Academy. The school has grown to accommodate over 300 students and holds the highest educational standards as a school accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). In the late 80’s, the Early Learning Center was established on the same campus. It is certified by the state and holds the distinction of a “Two Star” facility in the Quality Start Child Care rating system. The Early Learning Center specializes in managing babies and toddlers through three years old.

In 2007, the Household of Faith Church opened Ascension Christian High in response to the needs of a growing community prayerful for a Christian junior high and high school. Also, accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the campus spans 17 acres complete with sports facilities and a unique Christian culture that is relational, relevant, and rigorous.

The motto of our schools guides us to be a place for youth to learn responsibility, accountability, and to become a Christian leader who will be able to “Light a Path for the World.”
